Colorful pictorial map of the State of California designed by well-known 1930s artist & commercial illustrator, Norman Reeves, for the "Pageant of the States", a pictorial atlas first published in 1938 as a special commemorative work endorsed by the New York World's Fair, which opened in April the following year. It commemorated the 150th anniversary of the inauguration of George Washington as first President of the United States under the Federal Constitution.
